Courtney Richardson – I am a Freelance Filmmaker and I absolutely love what I do! I am an Editor, Director, Script Writer, Cinematographer, Photographer and Graphic Designer. After graduating from high school, I left my home in Georgia to follow my dream and moved to Winter Park, FL to attend Film school. I have received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University and also completed a year in their Bachelor’s of Science Film degree program. After earning a four-year Bachelors in two years and becoming magna cum laude for my program, I was also named Valedictorian and accepted three awards from Full Sail! I am now utilizing the skills that I have developed in both programs, and started my own Film and Photography company 3rd ST. Visuals in Atlanta, GA for Freelance work.
HOW DID I GET MY START IN THIS INDUSTRY?
Though I enrolled into Full Sail University in 2013, my passion for Film and Photography started at the young age of Six. I started off with my father’s JVC camcorder, and would go around the house to record friends and family. It then became my job to film and take pictures of family events and parties. However, being the Cinematographer was not enough when friends and relatives began to want their own copies of my work!
Therefore, I bought my first computer and taught myself how to edit video and audio. I started off using Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas, and later learned Adobe software, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Tiffen. Since then, I’ve created with many different technologies, software, audio & lighting techniques, and various cameras. As I would say, “from the moment that I picked up a camera, I haven’t been able to put it back down!”
[ 3rd ST. Visuals is a company where I do most of the work as a wearer of many hats, but I also love working with my team of 2-3 freelancers that help with audio, video, photography, lighting and music production when necessary! ]
WHAT HAS 3SV ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR?
Gaining recognition by Full Sail University and the association ‘AAA,’ 3SV has created music videos, mini-documentaries, short films, movie trailers, PSA’s, commercials, and critiques. We’ve also done cover art, website design & development, logos, visual poems and photography work for birthdays, headshot portfolios and many other events such as concerts and festivals.
